Yes, it's once again that time of the year!

Kicking off the beginning of the holiday season, the Toronto Christmas Market will soon have its official opening ceremony and Christmas tree lighting on November 20th, 2015.

A full line up of daily themed events and close to 320 performances throughout the festivities will surely fill the Distillery District with holiday spirit and cheer. Additional activities this year will include a Christmas Photo Contest, Mill St Brewery's World Caroling Challenge and Pet Photos with Santa Claus, among others.

Although the 2015 Christmas Market continues its 6th year tradition with the same energy and enthusiasm, its 2014 success and record attendance have prompted important changes to the event planning this year:

  • The Christmas Market will now run for a full month instead of 3 weeks, from November 20th to December 20th.
  • This year's charities have been broadened to three: the Daily Bread Food Bank, Plan Canada and the Star Santa Claus Fund.
  • The market will be closed on Mondays, open from Tuesday to Friday with free admittance and an admission fee of $5 on Saturdays and Sundays. Children ages 2 and below don’t pay. The restaurants and shops of the Distillery District will be open at their usual times everyday.
  • Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the sales tent.
  • Distillery District residents can expect to receive 2 weekend passes per unit and a parking garage pass for easy access and exit.
  • A portable security fence will be installed on weekends, in the perimeter of the Distillery District, in order to control the access to the market. Access to the residential building lobbies will operate normally.
  • Valid $5 admission tickets that are paid for during the Christmas Market, will be redeemable for purchases above $20 (before HST) at participating Distillery District stores and restaurants during January and February 2016.
As per the organizers, "net proceeds from ticket sales will be:
  • Reinvested into the festival's infrastructure, programming and new high quality installations
  • Used to help provide nutritious food to people struggling with hunger through a charitable partnership with Daily Bread Food Bank
  • Used to help children and families in developing countries break the cycle of poverty through a charitable partnership with Plan Canada
  • Used to provide gifts to underprivileged children through a charitable partnership with the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund"

Come join us and enjoy the activities!
